CLASSIC STEALTH SHOOTER
IGI 2: Covert Strike is a first-person shooting game developed by Innerloop Studios and published by Codemasters. In IGI 2: Covert Strike, you play as the elite agent David Jones who works for the Institute for Geotactical Intelligence to stop World War III from coming. The game has 19 missions in total, and the player can take multiple paths to complete each one. Depending on the person’s playstyle, IGI 2: Covert Strike can be played with stealth or with gun busting action The game supports both single and multiplayer campaigns, so whether you just want to enjoy the story or challenge your friends, IGI 2: Covert Strike has what you need.
The battles will be difficult as your enemies are accurate shooters. You could even crawl your way through the battlefield and still have a chance of getting shot. This makes it all the more important to take the offensive; use your weapons and camouflage to get ahead of your FPS opponents. Your offensive strategy can take time; use stealth as an advantage to complete the mission’s objectives - or at least maintain a bar of health.
QUESTIONABLE CONTROLS
IGI 2 falls behind on realism. Instead, it falls clunkily. The control functions leave a lot to the imagination. For example, moving from stance to laying down takes a full second yet lacks any fluid movement. It appears as if the camera had panned down.
Developers seemed to have missed out on another key move: crawling. FPS games would not be caught dead without crawling as a viable strategy. It is also a move that comes from real-life veterans. So, it makes your head itch just thinking about why it’s missing.
Regardless, the controls are easy-to-follow and responsive. You will find the binoculars to be useful and powerful. In fact, binoculars not only offer a wider view of things, but it also offers a thermal vision. This will come in handy when you’re looking out for enemies lurking in the shadows.
